FIRST TO LAND, FIRST TO FIGHT

For over 80 years, Alligator Marines—also known as Amtrac’rs—have manned the U.S. Marine Corps’ Amphibious Tractors (Amtracs), bringing troops, supplies, and courage to some of the most dangerous shorelines in history.

From Iwo Jima to Nasiriyah, these Marines wrote history one landing at a time, wave after wave, generation after generation.

Now, the Amphibious Tractor Association is building a memorial to honor their legacy. Set to be located at the National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle, VA, the memorial will create space for families, veterans, and civilians to gather, educate others, and reflect on generations of service.

With groundbreaking set for Fall 2025, the memorial will carry forward the spirit of every Amtrac’r who answered the call.
