Born in Bad Nauheim, Germany, Jasmin Moghbeli grew up in Baldwin, New York, inspired by a love of flight and exploration. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from MIT and a Master’s in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. After joining the U.S. Marine Corps, she became an AH‑1W Super Cobra pilot, flying over 150 combat missions and accumulating more than 2,000 flight hours in over 25 aircraft.
In 2017, Jasmin was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate, completing rigorous training to prepare for missions beyond Earth. She commanded the SpaceX Crew‑7 mission to the International Space Station in 2023, spending 199 days in space and representing the courage, discipline, and determination honed in the Marine Corps.
