Diana Tran-Yu’s journey began in Vietnam, where her family risked everything to escape. After time in Germany, they immigrated to the United States, carrying with them the hope of a better life. That experience gave Diana a lasting gratitude for freedom.
Years later, it was her daughter who first chose to serve, enlisting in the Navy as an intelligence specialist. Watching her daughter’s commitment and growth inspired Diana to follow in her footsteps.
She began her military career in the Navy Reserve as a pharmacist, providing essential expertise to the medical community. Later, she transitioned to active duty as a Healthcare Administrator, where she now ensures sailors and their families receive the support and care needed to remain mission-ready.
For Diana, military medicine is more than policy and logistics—it’s about people. Every role she has taken on is grounded in her family’s story of sacrifice and opportunity, and in the example her daughter set through service.
Diana Tran-Yu’s story is one of inspiration coming full circle: a daughter who led the way, and a mother who transformed gratitude into her own legacy of leadership and care.
