Dawn Solinski

Climbing Higher

Service doesn’t end when the shift is over, and San Antonio firefighter Dawn Solinski proves that every day.

Since joining the San Antonio Fire Department in 2008, Solinski has built a career centered on protecting others while making a lasting impact beyond emergency calls. She is a dedicated supporter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and has participated in the annual Tower Climb at the Tower of the Americas. In one unforgettable climb, she carried her nephew Wesley, who lives with cystic fibrosis, on her back, turning a physical challenge into a powerful symbol of love and determination.

Her commitment to giving back extends even further through “Chocolate for Charity,” a fundraiser she created to support organizations serving those in need. Whether she’s responding to emergencies or organizing community initiatives, Solinski leads with compassion and purpose.

Dawn Solinski exemplifies what it means to serve both on and off the job, reminding us that the greatest heroes are those who continue lifting others long after the sirens fade.
